Terms of use

Last updated : October 26, 2026

These terms govern the use of the EDAYA web portal, the EDAYA Parent and EDAYA Prof mobile apps, and the EDAYA Spark web app. By using any of these services, you agree to these terms.

Who we are

The EDAYA services are published by Maya Investissement Group Inc. (the “publisher”), a company incorporated in Canada with its registered office at 2237 Esprit Drive, Orléans (Ontario) K4A 4Z4, Canada.

If you have any questions about these terms: infos@maya-invest.ca.

Services covered

  • EDAYA (web portal): a management tool for schools and their staff (classes, students, accounts, school life, school fees).
  • EDAYA Parent (mobile app): follow your children’s schooling (school messages and announcements, homework, grades, absences, documents, school fees for viewing).
  • EDAYA Prof (mobile app): a tool for teachers and staff (homework, assessments, attendance, report cards, messages with families).
  • EDAYA Spark (web app for students): practice exercises for the middle school mathematics curriculum, personalized from school tracking data.

The role of the school

EDAYA is provided to schools. Accounts, classes, students, grades, attendance, messages and school fees are entered and managed by the school, which is responsible for them.

The publisher is not a party to the relationship between the school and families: teaching decisions, assessments, the invoicing of school fees and school rules are the school’s responsibility. For any question about the content of your file, please contact the school first.

The Privacy policy sets out the respective roles of the school and the publisher regarding personal data.

Accounts and access

There is no open sign-up. Accounts for parents, guardians, teachers and staff are created by the school, by invitation.

You sign in with the email address linked to your account, using a one-time code or the other authentication methods the service offers. Keep your access details confidential and do not share them.

You are responsible for activity carried out from your account. If you believe someone else has used your account, notify the school or the publisher immediately.

A student does not have an EDAYA account. For EDAYA Spark, a parent or guardian signed in with their own account generates a personal access code for their child. The code is shown only once, can be revoked by the parent at any time, and must not be shared with anyone other than the child concerned.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the services lawfully and respectfully. You must not:

  • access information about a student, family or school that does not concern you, or try to bypass access controls;
  • use another person’s account, access code or identity;
  • post content that is unlawful, abusive, discriminatory, misleading or that infringes someone’s privacy;
  • disrupt the services, try to introduce malicious code, or extract their content in bulk;
  • copy, decompile or resell the apps, except to the extent allowed by law;
  • use the data you view for commercial, advertising or any purpose unrelated to school tracking.

Content and accuracy of information

Each user is responsible for the content they enter or send (messages, homework, assessments, documents). They confirm they have the right to post it and agree that it is accurate and respectful.

Teachers and staff enter information about students who are minors: they must handle it confidentially, keep it accurate and use it only for their duties.

You grant us and the school the limited right to host, display and transmit your content only as far as needed to provide the service.

School fees

Where the school uses this feature, EDAYA Parent shows, for viewing only, the school fees invoiced, the payments recorded and the due dates. These amounts are entered and kept up to date by the school.

No payment is made in EDAYA. The app never asks for a card number or bank details. Payments are made directly to the school, through the means it offers. Any dispute about an amount is settled with the school.

Notifications

The apps may send you useful notifications (new message, absence, grade, homework). You can manage them in your device settings. Some device permissions (notifications, camera) are requested only for the features that need them.

Specific terms for EDAYA Parent

  • The app is for viewing information and communicating with the school. It only shows the children your account is linked to by the school.
  • The information shown reflects what the school has entered. It may be updated with a slight delay.
  • A parent or guardian account never gives access to features reserved for staff.

Specific terms for EDAYA Prof

  • The access granted (classes, subjects, features) depends on the permissions given by the school. You must only use the access assigned to you.
  • You remain responsible for the accuracy of the grades, assessments, attendance and report cards you enter or sign in the app.
  • Some features may be usable with a limited connection. Data entered is then synchronized once the connection returns; it is up to you to check that synchronization succeeded.

Specific terms for EDAYA Spark

EDAYA Spark is a complementary practice tool. It is not a chatbot, not an on-demand homework help service and not a tutor, and it does not replace the teacher or the school’s curriculum.

  • Content: exercises cover lessons from the official middle school mathematics curriculum. The student’s school tracking data (grades, observations, attendance) is only used to choose which lesson to practice, never to invent topics.
  • Generation: a student may generate one exercise set per update of their school tracking data. A new set is only available when their file has changed. Parents view the same sets but do not generate them.
  • Artificial intelligence: exercises are produced using an artificial intelligence model provided by a third party. Despite our checks, an exercise may contain an error or an unclear wording. How data is handled in connection with this model is described in the Privacy policy. Answers are not provided in the app. If in doubt, the student should ask their teacher.
  • No effect on the school record: using Spark does not change any grade, report card or other school data. Practice results are not an official assessment.
  • Access code: the parent or guardian is responsible for giving the code to their child and for revoking it. Revoking a code immediately ends the student’s access.
  • No unnecessary personal information should be entered in the app. Students do not need to write information about themselves or others.

Intellectual property

The apps, the code, the edaya brand, logos, texts, visuals and graphic elements are the property of the publisher or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the services for their intended purpose.

Content entered by schools and users remains theirs. Official educational curricula remain the property of their owners.

Availability and changes to the services

We aim to provide continuous access but cannot promise an uninterrupted or error-free service: maintenance, network outages or events beyond our control may affect it.

The services evolve. We may add, change or remove features. The mobile apps may require an update to keep working.

Warranties and liability

The services are provided “as is”, to the extent permitted by law. The publisher is not responsible for the accuracy of information entered by schools and users, or for decisions they make.

To the extent permitted by law, the publisher’s liability is limited to direct damages and does not cover indirect damages (loss of data entered by third parties, loss of opportunity, etc.). Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, or removes the rights the law gives to consumers.

You are responsible for how you use the services and for the security of your device.

Suspension and end of access

We may suspend or close access in case of breach of these terms, security risk, or at the request of the school, which manages its own accounts. Access also ends when the relationship between the school and the publisher ends.

You can stop using the services at any time and request deletion of your account. The procedure is described on the Deleting your account and data page.

Personal data

The processing of personal data, including that of minors, is described in our Privacy policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms, for example when a service changes. The last updated date is shown at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will inform you by an appropriate means. Continuing to use the services after an update means you accept the new terms.

Governing law and language

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute falls under the competent courts of that jurisdiction, subject to the mandatory rights you have where you live.

These terms are written in French and English. In case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.
